Rêve Absolu : Why the silence ?

Christmas is approaching and my last post about Rêve Absolu is from a while ago.  You probably are wondering why I’ve been so inactive since the start of December.

I realised that my work schedule was unhealthy. I was spending whole days and nights working on the game non-stop which caused me to be tired all the time.

As such, I spent several weeks to rest in order to come back to it with a more healthy mind.

I still have some progress to show but this progress is more related to development tools than elements directly visible in-game.

I mainly made progress on the dialog editing tools.

These tools are getting more and more advanced and allow a good amount of flexibility in the way dialogs are handled. Whether it is choices, variables, battles… This system allows to do a lot of things in game.

I also started thinking more about how I’ll compose the game’s OST. I originally thought about reproducing the tone of old DS games accurately. Taking inspiration from games such as Pokemon Black and White. While I still want to take inspirations from this kind of sources, I still want to add my own original touch to it all. Thus I started buying hardware that will come useful.

That’s not everything. I’m still waiting for some hardware to arrive.

I can’t wait to compose a memorable OST for you all.
